Recently, the leadership of the zoo Henry Doorly Zoo, in the American city of Omaha (Nebraska), with pride finally officially announced that they are growing two cubs of snow leopard (snow leopard).

Young male and female were born on May 22, but they were only recently examined and vaccinated because they did not want to disturb their mother in vain.

5-year-old female Rosemary became the mother of the kids, and 10-year-old Pasha became the father (Good news about animals – goodnewsanimal.ru).

This couple, by the way, successfully breeds in this zoo and the current twins are already their second offspring. Their first cub, a female named Victoria, was born in 2017, and when Victoria grew up, she went to live in a Michigan zoo.

Snow leopards are vulnerable and are listed in the international Red Book. In the wild, only 2700-3300 individuals remained (according to other sources, at least 7 thousand).

Snow leopards live in the mountains of Central Asia. In Russia, they can be found in Khakassia, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tuva, Altai and Buryatia.

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo Zoo is included in the rare species breeding program and carefully selects pairs for breeding snow leopards to produce genetically stable offspring.
